About
A global home
for the students
who left home.
The International Students Society is an independent, student-supported organisation working across 5 countries to support, connect and empower international students through journalism, research and community.
We started in 2024 as a small newsletter for postgraduate students in two European cities. Today, we're growing into a platform that publishes original journalism, produces research, hosts events and runs country chapters where students share housing leads, visa walkthroughs and the occasional recipe from home.
We exist because moving across borders to study is one of the most formative things a person can do — and because the systems around it are confusing, expensive and lonely. We can't fix all of that, but we can make it less invisible, and a little less alone.
What we believe
Student-first editorial
We write for students, not institutions. No sponsored content, no rankings games.
Open research
Our data is open-source. Our methodology is published. Our reports are free.
Community over platform
We build spaces, not algorithms. Every chapter is human-moderated.
Global by design
We don't see international students as a market. We see peers.
Growing together
We're a young organisation — and that's intentional. We'd rather grow slowly and meaningfully than scale fast and hollow. If you'd like to start a chapter, contribute to our research, or just say hello, we'd love to hear from you.
